 Page 100!

For reaching page 100, you would like I would have decided upon a better or more exciting page name. I feel proud to have reached page 100, sharing my journey from a student teacher to qualified teacher, consolidating with almost finishing my two ECT years too.

Over the past few years, this platform has been an integral tool in developing my abilities as a teacher. I have taught myself to become a reflective practitioner, I have continued to explore current research and relating this to inform my practice and shared a whole lot of what I have been up to!

Therefore, I decided it would be only fitting to reflect and share some of my top moments on this journey.

To begin, back I thought I would take it back to almost to the date 4 years ago (19.062020) where the global pandemic sent me home from university, placement was cancelled and I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands ...

"My Yearbook. This may not seem like your conventional book, but I decided the best way to create a resource for not only me, but for other training and qualified practitioners was to document my journey as I fill up my 'yearbook' on my path to graduation.

As children, we are asked what we want to be when we grow up. Most children would range from wanting to be a dinosaur to an astronaut, however, when I was asked this question my result never differed. My only response would be, 'a teacher'. When contemplating the best way to start my yearbook, I decided to sum up where I am now, to where it all started - my personal statement. I feel the opening to my statement (I can't believe how long ago I wrote this now) is the best way to illustrate my lifelong passion and ambition to become a teacher. When I finished my A- level's this was not the end of education or even school for me. This phrase is what has taken me to where I am now.  So... hi, I'm Miss Yeoman and I have just finished my first year at university, working towards my degree: Primary Education with QTS and I absolutely love it!"

This is what I stated as my initial year book intention:

"Through my yearbook my passion is to share lessons and ideas as well as writing about my experiences.  I am excited to get stuck into my yearbook and share my ideas and thoughts with other aspiring or qualified practitioners on my journey to graduation and teaching career."

Personally, I feel I can proudly say I have managed to achieved those things.

I decided to dedicate the time I put aside to write this post to re-read and reflect on the yearbook. It felt tricky to decide but here are 10 of my top posts:

Please feel free to go back and join me on that journey.

Join me again next week for my usual thing, continuing my exploration into assessment in the primary classroom.
