Page 38: Summer EYFS Fashion
At the end of placement part 1, I posted a page sharing my favourite Autumn/Winter EYFS clothing. With that post being popular, I have decided to share a few of my favourite summer bits!
Nothing has changed from my last clothing post regarding by how much I just loved clothes! I definitely spend way too much time and money finding these perfect and practical clothing items for school but I personally feel getting your wardrobe right is a must! As well as it being practical and moveable for your days requirements whilst still looking smart, it is key to feel confident and powerful in what you are wearing.
I feel this half term, I have been most definitely reaching for midi/long dresses and skirts than I ever have before. They are practical, moveable and smart which is perfect for those hotter days.
These are my top picks for this year:
1. This had to be my favourite piece of the year! This is a wonderful dark red, light and flowy dress from Primark which was a bargain at £15! I have paired this with a simple black belt from Pretty Little Thing, to give slight shape and break the up all the red. Totally recommend!
2. This was a classic from winter paired with tights and a jumper but is also perfect for summer too. It is long enough to wear with no tights and I have paired with the same Pretty Little Thing belt and a pair of pumps from Primark. This dress is a great length, practical and pretty.
3. This is my new favourite and probably most worn top! This is another new Primark bargain, and this delicate white blouse was £13. This top is really thin so is ideal for the hot days in outdoor provision but is is not see through like many other thinner tops which is fantastic! On this day, I paired it with tights from Asda, pumps from Primark and my favourite New Look Skirt.
4. This is a new top which I brought heading back to placement part 2. If you can't tell already I love a flower! This is another one from Primark which again is cool and comfy. I am wearing this my favourite H and M trousers which are smart as well moveable and a different pair of Primark pumps. I do not recommend these pumps as much. They scuffed badly on the first day I wore them and haven't been able to wear them since.
5. Wearing my classic H and M trousers again and a H and M blouse which is long owned and loved. This outfit is so comfortable and really smart - my only issue is it is white which is fairly risky in the EYFS but usually all the paint and play dough comes off on a hot wash! The main element I wanted to share in this post is my shoes. These sandals are from ASDA and were only £8. I pretty much wore these 90% of placement as they were cool, smart and practical. I wanted to opt for a sandal that was fairly covering to protect my feet and bit more and I find these perfect!
6. The next outfit I have chosen to share is this new skirt! The blouse is paired with another primark classic which I love as it is great quality material and affordable. The skirt itself is also from Primark (you can probably tell I did a big primark shop before placement) and I love it. It is super comfortable and a great length for all the moving up and down, and still being able to model 'good sitting' on the carpet crossing legs. Finally I am wearing my favourite school summer sandals from Asda!
7. And finally ... the last outfit I have chosen to share is a sale find in Primark. This dress is very comfortable, an extremely soft material and only £5. It is a good suitable length and the long sleeves make it ideal for those warmer but slightly cooler days as they can easily be rolled into that traditional summer dress. I have paired it with a belt from pretty little thing, and it is such an easy outfit! It'a one of those pieces that does not have to be ironed too so even better!
Before I sum up today's post, I could not write a post about my EYFS summer wardrobe without obviously mentioning our bubble closures, with most days via zoom and online pre recorded videos, I generally opted for a blouse, but beneath the screen paired with most likely joggers/pj's and slippers!
To end today's page slightly differently than my usual quote, I have got a key tip for Summer in the EYFS! SUNCREAM. With the lovely summer and much of provision spent outside, you are putting lots of suncream on children but often something you tend to forget is yourself. Like the pupils, I brought myself a bottle with 'Miss Yeoman' scribbled in sharpie across the top, and placed it in the box with the pupils. Every time we were applying theirs, I could do mine too, protecting my our skin is vital!
