Page 21: Back to being Miss Yeoman ...
Wow. What an amazing but completely crazy few weeks! I have just finished my first block in my Nursery, EYFS placement and I could not have imagined it to go any better! My school is amazing, the staff as so supportive, the children are completely inspiring and I truly feel part of their school community.
I don't know the best place to start, I have so much I cannot wait to write about and share, i'll start with a reminiscent summary I posted on @_missyeoman (Instagram), sharing a brief reflection on my time so far.
For today's post, I thought it would be best to take a week for myself to recover from how physically exhausted I am from being so busy, and to spend some time with my family over Easter too!
I will share my plan for what I intend to be posting for the next few weeks and what to expect over on Miss Yeoman's Yearbook. I will take a lot of drive from my instagram and continue to share all things placement and EYFS. I am gleaming from ear to ear and every second on placement just reaffirms to me that this is my career and exactly where I want to be. Over the next few weeks I will share all things EYFS. Reflecting on my practice as well as sharing some hopefully useful tips and lesson ideas! Such will include ...
- My general EYFS experience : the first day
- Starting with the key worker and vulnerable 'bubble' and into the reopening of schools and children's response on the 4th March
- Reflections and feedback from observations from my class mentors as well as SLT
- A variety of lesson plans across the core EYFS areas
- A delve into continuous provision and the carefully thought out planning when doing so
- Lesson ideas and corresponding resources
- Behaviour management in the EYFS
- Stand out key experiences/memory points to share
- A deep dive into basic numeracy, phonics and communication and language in the early years setting
I am super excited to get started with these posts and EYFS direction we'll be heading over the next few weeks. All I do is talk my head off about teaching so far so cannot wait to get typing and reflecting over the highlight of all my training so far! I will end today's page with this fitting quote how life changing and vital us early years teachers are!
"The first five years have so much to do with how the next 80 turn out" - Bill Gates
